These past few weeks have been a blur! We have been so busy getting to know each other and getting into the swing of things! It's going to be a great year in second grade! Here are a few odd and end photos of the fun we have each day!

We have had a great time getting to know each other! We started our journey off with magic dough! Throughout the week, we've had the opportunity to explore many of the manipulatives we will use in math. We have also had fun getting to share a little about ourselves with our "About Me Bags." Lunch time is always a favorite time of the day! Our fearless leader, Mrs. Booth, stopped in for some exploration with her new second grade stars! We will surely shine bright this year! I have been working hard to create an environment that will inspire student learning in a safe and caring manner. This was a tough feat as I have spent my last eight years in a totally different space. This is still a work in progress, but I hope that your child feels welcome and most importantly safe in my classroom. I can't wait to get started on Tuesday!
We HAD TO stop and celebrate our successes today! 9 A’s on the Math Benchmark!!!! NO F’s!!!!! So proud of everyone’s hard work! To celebrate, we had some fun with flashlights! It was a lights out, flashlights on kind of afternoon! We cuddled up to a good book and had the best time! Greatest thing of all... they were beyond thrilled to READ! 😂
It was such a pleasant surprise to be greeted back from 10 whole days without my kiddos by the world’s cutest tiny house! Alicia thought of every detail! A welcome mat, lawn furniture, and even a beach location (when you are outside AND when you look out the window)! I hope to see some more tiny houses make their way back to school! What an awesome way to explore area and perimeter! Way to go, Alicia!Big thanks to those who supplied eggs and candy for our Easter egg hunt review! We had so much fun searching for eggs. Students worked hard to answer each review question before enjoying their sweet treats! Who knew math review could taste so delicious!
